Ability to Learn

Definition

Ability to learn (learning to learn) means that students know their preferred learning strategies, the areas that need to be developed, how to do it, and where to find the necessary education and training. It is also the capacity to evaluate one’s learning. This competence includes confidence in the ability to succeed in learning, a desire to apply prior learning, curiosity, and a positive attitude towards learning throughout one’s life (LifeComp, 2020). The ability to learn can unleash the potential for change in individuals and communities, contributing to the common good of society, and empowering them to thrive in a rapidly changing world (Hoskins et al., 2008).
