Engagement in Community Services, Volunteering

Definition

Community service is work done by a person or group of people that benefits others. Volunteering is the contribution of time, effort and talent to a need, cause or mission without financial gain. Participating in community service and volunteering can be very beneficial for students, both in terms of personal growth and professional development. Students can develop various important skills, such as teamwork, leadership, communication, problem-solving, and time management. It can also help them develop empathy, compassion, and a sense of social responsibility (EURES, 2019).
