Increased Understanding of Diversity

Definition

With the rise of globalization, it’s more important then ever to be able to work with people from different cultures and social groups. By exposing students to a diverse range of opinions, thoughts, and cultural backgrounds, students become more open-minded, perceptive to new ideas and more creative. Promoting awareness and creating a personal connection with people with diverse backgrounds can help students to overcome prejudices and become more empathetic (APA, 2021).
