Experiential learning is a philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with students in direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, and clarify values (Association for Experiential Education).
Experiential pedagogy creates cognitive links between theory and real-world applications, thus providing methods for turning “knowing” into “doing.” Students foster their reasoning skills, learn how to work with others, improve their self-confidence through positive reinforcement and learn how to appreciate diversity (Kuh, 2021).
